Brinton Construction, Inc. believes in modern building
systems, including Sustainable Building (also known as Green
Building). Sustainable building is an innovative approach
to the design, construction and operation of residential and
commercial structures. Being a Bay Area General
Contractor, we understand that
Californians want to build
environmentally friendly while
maintaining their seat in the lap of
luxury. Therefore Brinton Construction, Inc. has
straight forward goals in our sustainable building
practices:
-
Conserving Natural Resources & Maximizing Efficiency
Conventional building practices use vast amounts of
natural resources during the construction of the
structure as well as the daily operation thereafter.
Brinton Construction, Inc. offers our clients the
ability to reduce energy and water usage. This allows
for the conservation of natural resources as well as the
reduction in monthly operating expenses.
Brinton Construction, Inc. strives to minimize energy
consumption and employ renewable energy sources whenever
possible. Some ways to accomplish this are by using:
|
- Insulated Concrete Form Walls |
- Radiant Heat Floor Systems & Sheeting |
|
- Flash Water
Heating Systems |
- Tech Shield
Radiant Barrier Roofing |
|
- Energy
Efficient Doors & Windows |
- Passive
Heating & Cooling Techniques |
-
Healthy Indoor Environments
Many of the chemicals used in building materials may be
toxic. Suspected carcinogens such as the formaldehyde
used in particleboard cabinets, shelving, countertops
and furniture release fumes into a home for years.
Volatile organic compounds (VOC) from paints and
varnishes off-gas into interior environments and can
contribute to respiratory problems. These can be
avoided by using:
- Low or no VOC paints and finishes
- Natural fiber carpets
- Formaldehyde-free insulation
and wood products.
Energy efficient houses are tightly sealed, so proper
ventilation systems need to be in place to help keep you
and your home healthy.

"Green
building doesn't have to look out of the ordinary.
It's about environmental conservation being woven into what
you already do."
